It's been a surreal experience finally saying goodbye to my Birthstone Goddesses after so many years of working on that project. It's also been freeing so I can pursue new styles and inspirations! The next big art journey I'm embarking on promises to combine my love of Fantasy books and cover art and I am SO hyped for that.
This past week, I've relaunched my Patreon to be focused on doing cover art for my favorite Fantasy books, starting with CASSIEL'S SERVANT by Jacqueline Carey. I've always adored the affirming and beautiful world of this book series, with this latest entry being the perfect place to re-enter the world after such a long hiatus for me.
Some of you might remember my jaunt through KUSHIEL'S DART where I created concepts and my own variant cover. I learned so much back then and tapped into a vein of inspiration I always meant to return to...but Life Happens (TM) and I never came back to it.
Time to hit the books and re-center myself on the things I'm passionate about! It's all very experimental right now letting myself explore not just cover art, but character moments, costumes, etc. as I read. Really just letting my muse run wild with book worlds!
I can't wait to start! My journey with CASSIEL'S SERVANT begins this month. It's just the salve I need to return to doing what I love during a time when I've felt replaceable by AI and lost in a sea of change.
